What are the symptoms of a bee sting allergy?
If you think you are allergic to bee stings, call your doctor.
A true allergic reaction to a bee sting will cause anaphylaxis. If your heart beat elevates substantially, if your blood pressure drops, if you develop hives or itching at your lymph nodes, if you feel tingling in your lips, or a constriction in your throat seek medical attention immediatly.
Normal reactions to a bee sting include localized swelling, redness, heat, and itching at the site. In fact, the swelling may reach affect an entire region of your body adjacent to the sting in some people. These reactions are normal, and do not represent an allergic reaction. I
If the affect of the sting is proximal (close to) the sting site, it is normal. If the affect of the sting is distal (far from, especially affecting your head throat, or causing itching in your armpits or groin) then it is possibly allergic and you should seek medical attention.
