You have successfully reached the instruction page for subscribing to the IEBA mailing lists.

What is a mailing list?
A mailing list is a tool that allows a group of email users to be associated with a single email address. For example, when a mail is sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it the mail will go to all of the members of the IEBA without having to type in each address individually. What makes this tool even more useful is that anyone can voluntarily subscribe to or unsubscribe from any mailing list they choose.

Can anyone send mail to all of the members by simply sending a mail?
No! All of the IEBA mailing lists, except for the Northyard list, may only be posted to by the list moderator. (you post to a list by sending an email to the list address). You should not have any unwanted e-mail associated with being subscribed to an IEBA mailing list. The Northyard list, as explained below, may only be posted to by validated subscribers to the list.

Why should I subscribe?
It makes life dissemination of information easier and more efficient. By subscribing to the newsletter lists you will receive notices at the time that the new newsletter is released.

OK, how do I subscribe?
Step 1. Choose the mailing list to which you wish to subscribe.

For subscribers with a high speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, etc.), we recommend:
Beemail-pdf
If you subscribe to this list, you will automatically receive the monthly newsletter as an email attachment that is sent directly to your email address when it is released. This is the easiest method for receiving the newsletter since is contained in the e-mail.
If you have a slow dial-up connection, this choice will likely require a longer download time because of the file size (up to 1Meg.)

For subscribers with dial-up internet or slow internet connections, we recommend:
Beemail-notice
If you subscribe to this list, you will receive an email notice that the newsletter is available for download. The email will contain a link to the newsletter's location so that you may download it at your leisure.

Please note that both newsletter mailing lists can only be sent from the list owner or moderator. You may not post to the list nor may other outside parties send to the list.

The Northyard List
Members interested in keeping up with events at the North Queen Rearing Yard, should subscribe to the Northyard mailing list.
If you subscribe to this list, you will receive notices of events at the North Yard. Additionally, you can reply to the list (or post to the list), and ask questions to list members. At the end of each month, you will automatically receive a digest of all messages on the list.
Note, you must subscribe to the list in order to post to the list. Give it a try.

Step 2 - Register and Log into the Site.

Once you are logged into this site, then click on the SUBSCRIBE TO MAILING LISTS link that will appear in the User Menu on the left-hand side of the page below the User Details link, and then choose the mailing list to which you wish to subscribe.

Digest Options. The digest option is only valid for the Northyard mailing list. A digest is a consolidated list of all posts to the mailing list for the past month. This is useful on mailing lists that allow subscribers to post questions and answers. At the end of the month, you can receive a digest of each of the questions (threads), and replies to each question.

Step 3 - Check your email for a confirmation message.
Once you enter the information and subscribe to the mailing list, you will receive a confirmation email.

Step 4 - Reply to the confirmation message or click on the validation link
In the confirmation mail, you can either simply reply to the message or you can click on the link in the message in order to validate your subscription.

Step 5 - Thats it! Now we just hope it works ;>

You can contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you have any questions.

HEY! I'm not getting any mail from the mailing list!
First, are you sure that you subscribed? If you did subscribe and never received a confirmation mail or any other mail, then check your spam settings on your email client. Some spam filters mark any mail with an "unsubscribe" link as spam.

Are there other ways to manage my mailing lists?
Absolutely! But you can just use the steps above and ignore this information.
If you don't want to use the website to manage your mailing list subscriptions, you can do it all by e-mail. Simply send a mail to the appropriate mailing list with a subject line stating the action that you want to take. To disable/enable mail delivery using the email interface Send a mail to LISTNAME-request@DOMAIN with the command set delivery off or set delivery on. Commands can appear in either the body or the subject of the message. Set it to "off" to stop receiving posts, and "on" to start receiving them again.
For example, you can Subscribe to beemail-pdf by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it -request and putting "subscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line or body of the message.
Conversely, you can unsubscribe from beemail-pdf by sending a mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by sending an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it -request and putting "unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the subject line or body of the message.
